From the City of Aurora website: Punkin Chunkin Colorado is the signature fall event presented by the city of Aurora and Chambers Wine & Liquor. The event features a pumpkin chunking competition that is one of only five such events sanctioned by the World Championship Punkin Chunkin organization. The fun-filled, three-day event also features family-friendly festival activities like live music, face painting, pony rides, crafts, a pumpkin patch and blow-up corn maze. Electronics are collected and recycled by Techno Rescue, a veteran-owned green IT company located in Aurora. Post-Thanksgiving Cooking Oil Collection at Fire Station No. 9. This free event allows Aurora residents and non-residents to drop off used cooking oil from turkey fryers for proper disposal to divert the oil from municipal water systems and landfills. Oil must be kept indoors and warm so that it can be easily poured.
